WhatsApp to Stop Working on These Phones from September

WhatsApp will stop working on phones running Android 5.0 and older versions from September 8. The app will be available only on Android 6.0 and newer versions.

The company reportedly took this decision due to difficulties in providing new features and security updates for old smartphones. Users who will be affected are being advised to back up their chat history. This change will apply to both WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business.
