

As tensions escalate in West Asia, there is uncertainty in the civil aviation sector worldwide. Thousands of passengers are stranded in various countries as key airports like Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha are closed. Passengers who need to change planes in West Asia are facing severe difficulties. Millions of pilgrims who went to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina are stranded in Saudi Arabia. Officials said that about 58 thousand of them are Indonesian citizens. Also, 30 thousand Germans traveling on cruise ships were unable to return and had to stay on the ships.
Many international flight services have been canceled in the wake of the Iranian missile attacks. While Emirates announced that it would operate only limited flights, Qatar Airways suspended services. IndiGo will operate 10 special flights from Jeddah to Hyderabad, Mumbai and Ahmedabad to evacuate Indians stranded in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Indian Airlines has cancelled hundreds of international services due to the situation in West Asia.
