Indian students aspiring to pursue higher education in the United States are facing increasing challenges due to rising costs and stricter regulations. Higher visa fees, the depreciation of the Indian rupee, and growing living expenses have significantly increased the overall cost of studying abroad. Limited opportunities for part-time jobs have further added to the financial burden on students.
The impact is also being felt by parents, many of whom are struggling to manage education loans and additional expenses. Reports suggest that the financial burden per student has increased by nearly Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh. At the same time, securing visa appointments has become more difficult, while enhanced scrutiny and procedural requirements are making the study-abroad journey more demanding for new applicants.
