The conflict in West Asia shows no signs of ending soon, as attacks intensified on the 13th day of the war. United States and Israeli forces carried out airstrikes on civilian targets in Iran and Lebanon, including security checkpoints in Tehran and a tourist area near Ramlet Al-Baida in Beirut. At least 21 people were killed and 32 others injured in the latest attacks. Meanwhile, Iran and Lebanon continued retaliatory strikes against Israel and Gulf countries, targeting energy infrastructure and strategic locations. Lebanon reportedly launched around 200 rockets toward northern and central Israel overnight, leaving several people injured. Israel also claimed to have destroyed an Iranian nuclear facility in recent strikes.
Tensions escalated further in the Persian Gulf after Iran attacked a US-linked cargo vessel near Iraq’s Khor Al-Zubair port using a suicide boat, killing one Indian sailor and injuring several others. So far, three Indian sailors have died and one remains missing in the conflict. Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned that attacks on Gulf states would continue and that Iran would intensify efforts to block ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The ongoing conflict has already displaced millions in Iran and Lebanon, while oil prices surged to nearly 100 dollars per barrel due to disruptions in maritime routes. The United Nations Security Council has urged Iran to halt attacks on Gulf countries as fears of a wider regional war grow.
