US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth made sensational remarks regarding the political situation in Iran. He stated that Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, had been severely injured and was the target of an attack. Hegseth claimed that, as a result of the attack, Mojtaba Khamenei's face was damaged beyond recognition. He further noted that, following this incident, numerous doubts are being raised regarding his current condition.
Pete Hegseth remarked that the fact that Mojtaba Khamenei's first statement appeared solely in written form is fueling suspicion. He pointed out that, despite Iran possessing extensive camera and voice-recording capabilities, the failure to release a video or audio message is raising questions. Hegseth expressed the view that Mojtaba Khamenei is currently injured and in hiding somewhere, and consequently, the new Supreme Leader lacks full legitimacy.
