Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed the Endowments Department to implement regulations similar to those at Tirumala in the precincts of the state's prominent temples. He suggested that political meetings, flags, and demonstrations be completely banned at temple premises, prioritizing instead the preservation of a spiritual atmosphere.
During a review meeting held in Hyderabad, he discussed the development works for the Gnana Saraswathi Temple in Basara. He emphasized that the temple should be developed in strict adherence to traditional customs. Officials explained that these works are estimated to cost approximately ₹225 crore. The Chief Minister directed that spacious roads be constructed, keeping in mind future requirements and the anticipated influx of devotees.
He stated that all vehicles must be parked outside the temple complex, with only electric vehicles permitted to enter the inner premises. He suggested installing solar-powered canopies over the vehicle parking areas. He also directed that extensive tree-planting drives be undertaken to fill the temple surroundings with greenery.
For the convenience of devotees, he ordered the establishment of a nearby health center and directed that medical staff be available on-site during major festivals. He advised that utmost care be taken during the development works to ensure that the sanctity of the temple remains undisturbed. The Chief Minister warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found negligent regarding the quality of the construction works.
