Once known as a star director, A. R. Murugadoss is now facing a tough phase in his career. His recent films failed badly at the box office and this has affected his reputation in the industry. Adding to his troubles, a new controversy has come to light after a producer filed a complaint against him.
Last year, Murugadoss directed two films - Sikandar starring Salman Khan and Madarasi starring Sivakarthikeyan. Both films turned out to be major failures. The producer of “Madarasi”, N. V. Prasad, filed a complaint with the Tamil Directors and Producers Council, stating that the film’s budget increased from ₹115 crore to ₹170 crore due to poor planning and working on another film simultaneously.
The producer reportedly demanded ₹10 crore as compensation for the losses. After discussions between both sides, a settlement was reached. As per the agreement, Murugadoss agreed to give the story of his upcoming project “Ramana 2” (a sequel to Tagore) to the production company for free. For now, Murugadoss does not have any new projects, and there are doubts about his comeback after this controversy.
