Los Angeles: A powerful storm has severely affected the US state of California, particularly Southern California. Heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds has triggered flooding across several regions, submerging low-lying areas.
Roads leading to Wrightwood in the San Gabriel Mountains, located about 80 miles northeast of Los Angeles, were covered with mud, causing several vehicles to get stranded. Authorities carried out rescue operations and shifted residents to safer locations. Evacuation orders were issued for people living in vulnerable areas. Landslides in multiple counties forced the closure of major highways. Nearly 100,000 homes were left without power due to the storm. Officials confirmed that three people lost their lives in flood-related incidents.
