Setback for Shashi Tharoor’s Son

Ishan Tharoor, son of senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, has lost his job following layoffs at The Washington Post. As part of a cost-cutting restructuring exercise, the newspaper announced staff reductions, affecting nearly one-third of its workforce. Ishan Tharoor, who served as a Senior International Affairs columnist, was among those laid off.

Reacting to the development on X, Ishan said he had spent 12 years at The Washington Post and had the privilege of working with many outstanding colleagues. He expressed deep disappointment over the turn of events and noted that several members of the international affairs team were also impacted by the layoffs.
