Playing as an opener in the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) One-Day League quarter-final, he scored a brilliant half-century, setting an example for the youth. Before the match, Anand performed warm-ups and batting practice, emphasizing that pre-game preparation is essential to avoid injuries. The video of his warm-up and on-field performance, captured by his fitness trainers Karthik and Mahadev, went viral after coach Karthik shared it on Instagram.
A 1991 batch IPS officer and former Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Anand has long incorporated sports into his life to manage professional stress. He follows a disciplined routine including cricket, tennis, golf, yoga, and pranayama to maintain both physical and mental strength. In the viral video, he is seen jogging, stretching, and doing arm rotations before stepping onto the field. Anand highlighted the importance of warming up and post-game stretching for recovery.
