

Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram and Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy visited the Medaram Sammakka–Sarakka Jatara and offered prayers to the tribal deities. They were accorded a warm welcome by Telangana ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Danasari Anasuya Seethakka, and Adluri Laxman Kumar, followed by special rituals at the temple.
Addressing the media, Jual Oram described the Sammakka–Sarakka Jatara as the largest tribal festival in the country and a grand congregation of tribal communities. He stated that the Central government is providing full support for regional development and has arranged special trains for devotees. He also highlighted various welfare schemes and educational initiatives being implemented for tribal communities in Telangana.
Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said the month-long festival attracts lakhs of devotees from across the country. He detailed Central funding for tourism development in Mulugu region, Ramappa Temple development, and Jatara arrangements. He also announced progress on the Central Tribal University named after Sammakka–Sarakka and praised the efforts of the State government in ensuring facilities for devotees.
