The ruling alliance is securing a clear majority in the Maharashtra municipal elections. Particularly in Mumbai, the alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in over 131 seats out of the total. Political circles believe these results once again demonstrate the strength of the ruling alliance in state politics.
Meanwhile, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena alliance is leading in 73 seats, while the Indian National Congress is ahead in 15 seats. Analysts say that once the complete municipal election results are declared, there will be greater clarity on the local political dynamics.
