The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, expressed gratitude to the Central Government for resolving the issue related to foreign funding faced by the Rural Development Trust, which has been serving the welfare of the poor for decades. He noted that the proactive intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah played a crucial role in addressing the issue.
He stated that the trust has been providing various services to the underprivileged across thousands of villages in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. However, due to restrictions imposed earlier under the Foreign Contribution Regulation framework, the organization’s activities were disrupted. He added that after explaining the importance of the trust’s work to the Centre, a solution was facilitated.
With the special initiative taken by the Union Home Minister, the trust has now been granted permission to receive foreign funds again, which will help resume and accelerate its activities. He emphasized that this decision will benefit lakhs of underprivileged people who depend on the trust’s services. On behalf of the beneficiaries, he conveyed his thanks to the Central Government through a social media post for considering the requests made by the state governments.
