

Despite the tense situation in the global oil markets, central government sources have made it clear that petrol and diesel prices are not going to increase in the country for the time being. Oil companies have said that they have sufficient reserves of crude oil and refined fuel. They have revealed that there is no plan to increase prices at present as there are sufficient reserves for the next 6 to 8 weeks. Officials said that oil companies will bear the current pressure temporarily even though the government is constantly monitoring the conditions in the international markets.
Meanwhile, the center has also increased the booking period for LPG cylinders. The decision has been taken to increase the period from the current 21 days to 25 days. The government said that this decision has been taken to utilize the cylinder reserves efficiently. On the other hand, the Fertilizer Association of India has revealed that the country also has sufficient reserves of fertilizers required for the Kharif season. Officials said that the country currently has 177.31 lakh tonnes of fertilizer reserves.
