Pakistan continues to allege India’s involvement in a deadly suicide bombing that rocked Islamabad. The attack took place at the Khadijat-ul-Kubra Shia mosque and Imambargah (Ashurkhana), where an unidentified suicide bomber detonated explosives, killing at least 69 people and injuring 169 others. India has categorically rejected the accusations, dismissing reports linking it to the attack as baseless. Despite this, Pakistani leaders have persisted with allegations against India.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi claimed that India was funding terrorist organisations operating within Pakistan. He alleged that groups such as ISIS and the Taliban were involved in the attack and were receiving financial and operational support from India. Naqvi further stated that an Afghan national was the main conspirator and had been arrested. No group has officially claimed responsibility so far, though police sources suspect the involvement of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), noting that the attacker was not a Pakistani national. The incident triggered heightened concern as it occurred while Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was in Islamabad on an official visit. India strongly condemned the attack and reiterated its rejection of Pakistan’s allegations.
