US President Donald Trump has recently clarified that the United States has no intention of using nuclear weapons in the ongoing conflict with Iran. He stated that Iran has already been weakened through conventional military strategies and emphasized that he has never authorized and will never support, the use of nuclear weapons. Trump reiterated his consistent stance that such weapons should never be used under any circumstances. He also noted that he is not in a rush to reach an agreement with Iran, stressing that his focus is on a long-term, stable deal rather than a quick resolution. Additionally, he suggested that Iran may have used the recent temporary ceasefire period to rebuild or strengthen its weapons systems.
In a series of remarks on Truth Social, Trump warned that time is running out for Iran. He claimed that Iran’s military strength is declining and that its leadership has already been significantly weakened. He further stated that US sanctions will continue to intensify and that the situation could deteriorate further in the coming period. Trump also mentioned that a recently seized Iranian commercial vessel contained a “highly classified gift” from China, though he refused to provide further details. Furthermore, he announced an extension of the Israel–Lebanon ceasefire by three more weeks and indicated the possibility of a forthcoming meeting between the leaders of both nations at the White House.
