The Central Government has clarified that the country possesses abundant reserves of petrol, diesel, and LPG. Officials stated that fuel purchases in certain regions have surged abnormally following the circulation of rumors suggesting a potential fuel shortage due to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. However, the Union Ministry of Petroleum has affirmed that refineries across the country are operating at full capacity and that there are absolutely no disruptions in supply.
The government has advised the public not to panic or stockpile fuel beyond their immediate requirements. It further stated that the supply of LPG cylinders continues as usual, and there is no shortage at the distributor level. Officials added that instructions have been issued to state governments to take strict action against illegal hoarding and black-marketing.
