The film “Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge”, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has been making waves at the box office. Riding on the success of its first installment, audiences have flocked to theaters for the sequel. On its opening day alone, the film collected massive worldwide revenues, surprising trade analysts. While the movie has received tremendous appreciation, critics have also called it a political propaganda film. Amid this, Tollywood stars like Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, and Vijay Deverakonda have publicly praised the film on social media.
However, actor Prakash Raj has raised concerns that the praise might be influenced by political pressures. Speaking on X (formerly Twitter), he noted that the trend of “pressure politics,” often seen in Uttar Pradesh, is now entering Tollywood. He subtly criticized the BJP, stating that star actors are expected to promote films favorable to the ruling party, highlighting the intersection of cinema and politics in the industry.
