

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu clarified that there is no intention to increase electricity charges. He directed officials to pass on the benefits arising from true-up adjustments directly to the consumers. He stated that the state, which once faced a power shortage, is now steadily moving towards a power surplus, and efforts are underway to reduce the cost of power purchase to as low as Rs. 3.90 per unit.
The Chief Minister suggested accelerating renewable energy projects such as solar rooftop systems, wind power, and pumped storage. He stated that the government's objective is to increase efficiency in power management while keeping charges stable. He revealed that the goal is to provide reliable and affordable electricity to households, farmers, and industries through better planning and cost control measures.
