After the Sankranti festival, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is set to begin the municipal election campaign from the united Adilabad district on January 16. On this day, he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several development works and address a public meeting. The same day will also see the inauguration of the Sadarmat Barrage and a visit to the Chanakha–Korta project. With these events, the Chief Minister will formally kick off the municipal election campaign. Though the campaign was earlier planned to start on February 3 in Jadcherla, it was decided to begin earlier due to time constraints.
As part of the tour, on January 17, the CM will lay the foundation stone for the Triple IT project in Jadcherla and take part in development programs and a public meeting in Mahabubnagar. On January 18, he will inaugurate development works in Paleru, address a united Khammam district Congress workers’ meeting in Khammam and attend the CPI centenary event. Later that evening, he will reach Medaram in Mulugu district and stay overnight. On January 19, he will inaugurate the newly built Sammakka–Saralamma gaddes early in the morning and return to Hyderabad. The same evening, he will leave for Davos, followed by a visit to the United States and is expected to return on February 1. These details are yet to be officially confirmed by the government.
From February 3 onwards, the Congress party plans to hold large election meetings across the nine united districts, excluding Hyderabad, with a target of one lakh people at each venue. The responsibility of organizing and supervising these meetings will be given to in-charge ministers of the united districts. The PCC plans to finalize and announce the list of ministers after discussions with AICC state in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan and the Chief Minister. The party aims to win 90 percent of wards and chairman posts in the municipal elections.
