For the safety and health of the lakhs of devotees attending the Medaram Jatara, the state government has made extensive arrangements. Measures include providing safe drinking water, maintaining strict sanitation and preventing water contamination in the Jumpanna Vagu stream, along with setting up comprehensive medical facilities. A 50-bed super specialty hospital was established at the TTD Kalyana Mandapam near the main festival venue and 30 additional medical camps were set up across the region. A total of 5,192 medical and paramedical staff were deployed, including 649 doctors, 154 AYUSH doctors, 673 nurses, 1,905 support staff, 1,111 paramedics, 331 supervisors and 700 other personnel.
Post-festival, to ensure the continued health and safety of local residents, 10 medical camps were maintained, and hospitals in surrounding areas—including Eturu Nagaram, Mulugu, Pasara, Govinda Rao Peta and Mangapeta—were reinforced. To prevent accidents during devotees’ ritual bathing in the Jumpanna Vagu stream, 325 personnel including swimmers, Singareni rescue team members, and SDRF staff were deployed, equipped with life jackets, searchlights and lifesaving equipment. The State Fire Department also made extensive arrangements to prevent fire hazards, deploying 15 fire brigades, 12 mist bullets, 2 fire engines and 268 personnel across the festival grounds.
