

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has taken several important decisions during its latest meeting. The cabinet approved projects worth ₹8.80 lakh crore across different sectors. It also decided to extend the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to provide drinking water to every household in rural areas, until December 2028.
The government has also decided to develop the Madurai Airport in Tamil Nadu into an international airport, which is expected to improve travel facilities and connectivity for passengers.
In addition, the Centre made an important decision regarding cooking gas supply. Gas companies have been instructed to increase production by 10 percent to avoid shortages. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in black marketing of cooking gas.
