

A bus (registration 15AB0564) met with a serious accident in the Orsa Valley area under Mahuwad Police Station in Latehar district, Jharkhand. The tragic incident claimed the lives of five people and left 85 others injured. The injured have been shifted to a hospital in Mahuwad for treatment. The passengers were traveling in a school bus from Balarampur in Chhattisgarh to Lodh Fall to attend a wedding ceremony.
Local residents immediately responded to the accident, and police rushed to the site to provide assistance. According to preliminary reports, over 90 passengers were on board at the time of the accident. So far, the bodies of five women trapped under the bus have been recovered, and authorities believe there may be additional casualties still trapped.
Police Superintendent Kumar Gaurav confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway. The deceased have been identified as Resanti Devi (35), Prema Devi (37), Sita Devi (45), Sukhna Bhuyan and Sonamati Devi (55). Reports indicate that the condition of the 85 injured passengers is critical. Preliminary findings suggest that the accident occurred due to brake failure, which prevented the driver from controlling the bus.
