Income Tax Department officials have been conducting extensive raids for the past two days on the residences and offices of the owners of Pista House, Shah Ghouse, and Mehfil restaurant chains in Hyderabad.
The raids took place at the residences of Pista House owners Mohammed Majeed and Mohammed Mustan located in Rajendranagar Golden Heights Colony, as well as the homes of the chairmen and directors of Shah Ghouse and Mehfil.
Across Greater Hyderabad, including Lakdikapool, Shaikpet, Attapur, Tolichowki, and Gachibowli, IT officials carried out searches at around 30 locations. Sources say approximately ₹20 crore in cash and a large quantity of gold have been seized.
Officials have also found key documents related to benami properties registered under the names of employees, along with details of multiple bank lockers held under various names. The department suspects that black money was routed through hawala channels.
The raids are expected to continue today as well.
