The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has issued a warning that global temperatures are likely to reach record highs between 2026 and 2030. According to the agency, the average global temperature could rise by 1.3°C to 1.9°C above pre-industrial levels due to the growing impact of greenhouse gas emissions and climate change.
Experts stated that 2026 could become one of the hottest years ever recorded, with temperatures expected to rise even further by 2027. The report also cautioned that increasing heatwaves, droughts, and extreme weather conditions may severely affect human health, agriculture, and water resources across the world.
