Even as Donald Trump claims that discussions are underway to end the war, statements from Iran indicate otherwise. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has asserted that retaliatory strikes will continue until the United States and Israel “regret their aggression.” Speaking after talks with Wang Yi, Araghchi blamed U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran’s civilian and defense infrastructure for escalating instability in the region.
He emphasized that Iran’s actions, including measures related to the Strait of Hormuz, are in line with international law and aimed at protecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Meanwhile, amid emerging diplomatic efforts, reports suggest that temporary protection has been extended by the U.S. and Israel to Araghchi and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf during the negotiation period, although no official confirmation has been issued.
