Amid growing tensions in West Asia, Iran clarified that no discussions are taking place with US President Donald Trump. This comes after Trump announced a five-day pause on attacks against Iran’s energy and electricity plants, claiming talks were progressing to end the conflict. Iranian media, however, stated that Tehran and Washington are not engaged in any negotiations and that the US cannot be trusted. Iran emphasized that Trump’s announcement to delay attacks was purely a strategic move in response to global oil price surges and pressures from Gulf and West Asian countries.
Senior Iranian security officials warned that the pause does not indicate any retreat in Iran’s defense. They stressed that the country remains alert and prepared, and the five-day break is seen only as a tactical maneuver by the US. The statement comes amid rising global oil prices and fears of an escalating energy crisis, highlighting ongoing geopolitical friction in the region.
