United States President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday evening, marking his first visit to China in nearly a decade. The visit comes amid rising tensions between the two countries over trade, Taiwan, technology, and military issues, making the trip highly significant.
China has arranged a two day official visit with formal banquets and diplomatic engagements. Ahead of Trump’s arrival, China’s embassy in the United States issued a strong message on social media outlining “four red lines”, warning that certain issues should not be crossed. These include Taiwan, human rights, China’s political system, and its development rights. The talks are expected to focus on trade, artificial intelligence, supply chains, and rare earth exports, which remain a key point of tension between the two nations.
