The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made key adjustments to the IPL 2026 schedule in view of local body elections in Gujarat. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia announced that venues for matches involving Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings have been swapped due to security considerations.
As per the revised schedule, the match originally set to be held in Ahmedabad on April 26 at 3:30 PM between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings will now take place at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, with no change in timing. Similarly, the return fixture, initially planned in Chennai on May 21, has been shifted to Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, and will be played at 7:30 PM. The IPL authorities confirmed that these changes were implemented to ensure smooth conduct of matches amid election-related security arrangements.
