IndiGo Airlines has credited ticket refunds worth ₹610 crore back into passengers’ accounts after nearly six days of operational disruption. The airline stated that refund processing has now been stabilized, bringing relief to thousands of affected passengers. Following the crisis, IndiGo’s on-time performance has also shown significant improvement, rising to nearly 75%, indicating partial recovery. Officials estimate that normal operations may fully resume by the 10th of this month, if current trends continue.
To ease inconvenience, the airline has waived all rescheduling charges until December 15, allowing passengers to modify their travel plans free of cost. Additionally, the central government has imposed temporary restrictions on airfares until mid-month to prevent sudden fare spikes during the crisis. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has launched an inquiry into the operational issues that triggered the disruption. Authorities have assured strict action if any lapses or violations are identified.
