The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast above-normal temperatures across the country during February, indicating a rapid decline in winter conditions. With El Niño conditions developing over the Pacific Ocean, the 2026 summer season is expected to witness significantly higher temperatures than usual. Between March and June, several states may experience record-breaking heat, along with severe heatwave conditions.
In the Telugu states, dry weather continues to prevail. While early mornings remain slightly cool, daytime temperatures are steadily rising. According to IMD, winter conditions are likely to completely fade by the end of February, with daytime temperatures reaching uncomfortable levels. For Hyderabad, dry weather will persist on February 6, with slightly above-normal daytime temperatures. On February 7, the city is expected to record a maximum temperature of 29°C and a minimum of 17°C, with mild cold conditions during evening and night hours.
