A brief security alert was triggered on Wednesday evening after a helicopter was spotted circling near the ACA–VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam ahead of the scheduled cricket match. The incident occurred just as players from both teams arrived at the stadium in buses and entered the dressing rooms. The helicopter reportedly flew at a low altitude and made two rounds around the stadium before heading towards the coastline via Madhurawada IT Hills, prompting immediate concern among security personnel.
Following verification, police confirmed that the helicopter was part of the heli-ride service arranged at Rushikonda Beach for the ongoing Visakha Utsav celebrations. Officials warned the organisers against flying anywhere near the stadium zone and instructed them to strictly avoid the airspace around the venue during match hours. Security agencies remained alert for some time, after which normal arrangements resumed.
