The Telangana government has decided to introduce half-day schooling from March 16 in view of the rising summer temperatures. Schools will function from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by the mid-day meal. Institutions serving as Class 10 examination centres will operate from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with special classes arranged for students during the exam period.
Summer holidays have been scheduled from April 24 to June 11, and the new academic year 2026–27 will commence on June 12. Officials stated that the revised schedule is aimed at protecting students from heat while ensuring continuity in academic activities.
As a special provision for Ramzan, Urdu-medium schools and teacher training institutes will function from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM between February 19 and March 20. Additional classes will be conducted after March 20 to compensate for the adjusted schedule.
