

In the backdrop of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the nomination affidavit filed by former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami has sparked widespread discussion. He disclosed that his family possesses assets worth ₹8.99 crore in total. However, with regard to his personal assets, he stated that he owns movable assets worth only ₹50.86 lakh. The affidavit also clearly mentions that he does not own any immovable properties such as a house, residential plot or agricultural land in his name.
He further revealed that neither he nor his family members own any vehicles. According to the affidavit, his wife Radha holds combined movable and immovable assets worth ₹5.61 crore, while an additional ₹2.87 crore worth of assets are registered under the joint family. These disclosures have become a topic of discussion in political circles.
