A major development has taken place in the Maoist-affected regions of Chhattisgarh as a total of 38 Maoists surrendered at the Dantewada Superintendent of Police office. The police stated that rewards amounting to ₹67 lakhs had been announced on those who surrendered. Officials added that the Maoists voluntarily laid down their arms, placing trust in the government’s rehabilitation policies.
After the recent Hidma encounter, a sense of fear is believed to have spread among Maoist groups. Security forces feel that Maoist activities in the region are weakening and that more surrenders may follow in the coming days. Officials described this as an important step towards restoring peace and stability in the region.
