India was shaken once again after a car exploded near Delhi’s Red Fort late last night, triggering a massive fire that engulfed nearby vehicles and claimed nine lives. Police and national security teams reached the spot within minutes and began a detailed investigation. According to early reports, Delhi Police are now exploring the possibility of a terrorist connection behind the blast.
The case has been registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), officially classifying it as a terror probe. Sources revealed that the man driving the car might have links to the Faridabad terror module, from where a large quantity of explosives was earlier recovered.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is holding a high-level meeting with security officials, and an official statement on the nature of the attack is expected shortly.
