The Central Government has released another ₹640 crore to gram panchayats in Telangana as part of the pending funds under the 15th Finance Commission. With this latest installment, the entire pending dues for the financial year 2024–25 have been cleared. Telangana Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka stated that the timely submission of utilization certificates and required reports by the state government helped speed up the release of these funds.
However, the minister said that about ₹1,255 crore related to the 2025–26 financial year is still pending from the Centre. She urged the Central Government to release the remaining funds quickly, as they are crucial for ongoing development works in villages. Seethakka added that if the funds are released on time, infrastructure development, drinking water supply, sanitation, and other basic facilities in villages will progress faster.
