Actor Dhanush’s upcoming film Kara has encountered legal trouble just days before its scheduled theatrical release on April 30. A petition has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking a stay on the film’s release, citing a title dispute. The case has brought attention to naming conflicts in the Tamil film industry.
The complaint was filed by producer Vengai Ayyanar, who is associated with another project titled Karaa, starring Master Mahendran. He claims that the title was officially registered with the Tamil Film Producers Council three years ago and that despite objections, no action was taken. The petition argues that the similarity between Kara and Karaa could lead to confusion among audiences. Meanwhile, the film, directed by Vignesh Raja and starring Mamitha Baiju alongside Dhanush, continues to generate strong pre-release buzz as the court prepares to hear the matter.
