The Central Government has intensified its crackdown on illegal gambling and betting platforms, blocking over 300 websites and applications. These include online sports betting platforms, online casinos offering slots, roulette, and live dealer tables, peer-to-peer betting exchanges, Satta/Matka gambling networks, and real-money card and casino game apps. Authorities are aiming to curb illegal gaming activities and protect citizens from financial and social risks associated with gambling.
So far, a total of approximately 8,400 websites have been blocked across the country. The majority of these—around 4,900—were blocked after the passage of the Online Gaming Act, which strengthens legal measures against unauthorized online gambling. Officials continue to monitor and act against platforms violating the law.
