The first phase of the census will begin from tomorrow, with officials visiting households to collect important information. This process aims to gather accurate data about the population and living conditions of people. Officials will record details such as the number of family members, their names, gender and information about the head of the household.
They will also collect social category details, including whether the head of the family belongs to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or other groups. In addition, information about the house will be noted, such as the number of rooms, number of married couples and the facilities available in the home. Details about assets, sources of income and basic amenities will also be recorded.
Officials will further gather information about items available in the household, including radio, television, internet access, laptops, computers, smartphones and vehicles like bicycles, scooters, motorcycles, cars and vans. For communication purposes, the contact number of the house owner will also be collected as part of the census process.
