The movement of a tiger over the past two days in Karakagudem mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district has created concern among local residents. Footprints believed to belong to the big cat were found in forest-fringe villages, causing anxiety among farmers and cattle herders.
On Friday, pugmarks were identified near T. Kothagudem in the erstwhile Pinapaka mandal. On Saturday, similar footprints were spotted in a Jamayil plantation near Narayanapet in Karakagudem mandal. Forest officials inspected the sites and confirmed the tiger’s movement in the area.
Forest Range Officer Tejaswini stated that the tiger may be moving towards the Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary. CCTV cameras have been installed near water sources to monitor the situation.
Officials have advised villagers not to venture alone into forest areas and to remain cautious while grazing cattle near the forest boundaries.
