Air pollution levels have risen sharply in Amaravati, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching a worrying level of 221. Comparatively, Rajamahendravaram recorded an AQI of 115, while Visakhapatnam reported 117, indicating moderate pollution levels in these cities. The deteriorating air quality has raised concerns among residents and environmental authorities.
In response, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (PCB) Chairman Krishnayya conducted inspections within the CRDA limits. The PCB is focusing on implementing preventive measures such as water sprinklers, development of green belts, and the use of covered conveyor belts to control dust and reduce air pollution levels in the region.
