

A major accident occurred at LaGuardia Airport when an Air Canada Express aircraft collided with a fire truck during landing. The incident took place around 11:30 PM local time on Sunday in New York. The CRJ-900 aircraft, arriving from Montreal, hit the fire vehicle stationed on Runway 4, causing severe damage to the front portion of the plane. Reports indicate that at least four firefighters sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital. The aircraft was carrying around 100 passengers and crew members at the time of the accident.
Rescue operations are currently underway at the airport, with emergency teams working to safely evacuate passengers. The condition of those onboard is yet to be fully confirmed. According to Flightradar24 data, the aircraft was moving at approximately 24 miles per hour during landing. It is also reported that air traffic controllers had warned the fire truck moments before the collision. Following the incident, flight operations at the airport have been temporarily suspended as authorities continue their investigation.
