BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has warned that artificial intelligence could lead to the loss of millions of jobs in the coming years. Speaking at a fireside chat held at Columbia University in the United States, he said that the impact of AI is real and imminent, and governments as well as societies are not yet fully prepared to face this transformation. He cited recent large-scale layoffs in companies like Oracle Corporation as an example of the growing trend.
KTR emphasized that the youth must continuously upgrade their skills to stay relevant in the changing job market and adapt to technological advancements. He also urged Indian youth to move beyond job-seeking and become job creators by embracing entrepreneurship. Highlighting India’s progress in physical and digital infrastructure, he noted that the country has adopted telecom technologies ahead of many nations, but stressed that India now needs to focus on innovation rather than replicating development models from other countries.
