The Telangana government has decided to take strict action against government employees who fail to attend duty regularly. In a major move to enforce discipline in public services, the state has amended the Telangana Civil Services Rules to deal firmly with prolonged unauthorized absence. As per the revised rules, employees who remain absent from duty for more than one year without proper permission can be removed directly from service.
Based on these amendments, the Chief Secretary has issued official orders clarifying the procedure to be followed. If an employee is found to be continuously absent or on leave without approval, the department will first issue a show-cause notice. Failure to provide a satisfactory explanation will result in termination from service. The government stated that these changes are aimed at ensuring accountability, efficiency, and uninterrupted delivery of public services.
