The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Andhra Pradesh conducted surprise raids on Thursday targeting two government employees on charges of possessing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income. The searches were carried out simultaneously at multiple locations, including the residences of a home guard in Vizianagaram district and a Grade-2 employee working at the Renigunta Sub-Registrar Office in Chittoor district.
In Vizianagaram, ACB officials raided the house of Home Guard N. Srinivasa Rao, working at the district police office, following allegations that he amassed huge assets beyond his income. Searches were conducted at four locations across Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts, including the residences of his relatives and close associates. In a parallel operation, ACB teams led by Additional SP Vimalakumari carried out raids at five locations in Renigunta, Tirupati, and Nellore districts linked to Sub-Registrar Office employee Nallapogu Tirumalesh. Officials reportedly seized cash, gold ornaments, and key property documents. Preliminary findings suggest that several assets were registered in the names of relatives. Further verification of bank lockers and benami properties is underway, and a detailed report will be released after the completion of the raids.
