In response to the escalating conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued a directive to all international airport operators in the country to provide an immediate update on their aviation fuel status. Fearing potential disruptions in global oil supplies due to the instability in West Asia, the AAI has sought comprehensive details, including current Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) stocks and the estimated fuel requirements for the next seven days.
This precautionary measure, taken following instructions from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, covers all 33 international airports in India. Operators are required to share specific data on average daily consumption and the scheduled dates for their next fuel replenishment. While operations currently remain stable, officials emphasize that this data collection is vital to ensure national aviation security and to prepare for any sudden supply chain interruptions originating from the Gulf region.
