The ongoing Iran–Israel conflict has triggered anxiety among residents, with travel disruptions leaving thousands of Indians stranded in Dubai. According to travel agencies, more than 24,400 Indian nationals were affected following the temporary closure of Dubai Airport, including around 2,000 people from Hyderabad. Families back home are reportedly worried about the situation. Although Dubai Airport resumed operations on Monday night and flights to Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai took off, uncertainty continues for many travelers.
Despite Emirates Airlines issuing boarding passes for Hyderabad-bound passengers, the scheduled flight was later cancelled, and travelers were shifted back to hotels. Dubai continues to remain a major destination for tourism, business, education, and medical travel. Last year alone, 5,23,107 passengers traveled from Shamshabad Airport, with nearly 50–60 percent being tourists. On average, five to six direct flights and up to 15 connecting flights operate daily from Hyderabad, carrying around 1,400–1,500 passengers.
