Vicky Kaushal has responded to criticism surrounding a joke he made at a private wedding earlier this year, stating that public figures are not expected to be perfect and that constructive criticism can be a valuable learning experience. The controversy erupted after a video from a March 2026 wedding went viral on social media. In the clip, Vicky humorously remarked that bachelors tend to have high enthusiasm and energy, while married men see that enthusiasm gradually decline over the years. While the audience at the event laughed at the joke, it sparked debate online, with some users criticizing it as an outdated stereotype about marriage.
Addressing the issue in a recent interview, Vicky acknowledged that criticism is an inevitable part of public life and that celebrities can make mistakes. He emphasized that constructive feedback can help individuals reflect and improve. The actor also noted that once comments are made publicly, people are free to interpret them in different ways, and there is only so much control a person has over how their words are received. Vicky, who married Katrina Kaif in 2021, is currently working on Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
