This Is the Desire in My Heart - Rakul Preet Singh

Rakul Preet Singh has been taking up a variety of roles and is currently part of Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious two-part film Ramayana. She plays Shoorpanakha in the film, which features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Kajal as Mandodari. The first part is scheduled for an international release on November 6, 2026, while its Indian release is planned for November 8 as a Diwali treat.

In a recent interview, Rakul revealed that she wants to step into unexplored territory as an actress. She said she has never done a full-fledged emotional romantic love story that could deeply move audiences, and would love to take up an intense love story. She also expressed interest in period films and horror movies, genres she has not explored so far. Going forward, Rakul wants to focus less on the scale or genre of a film and more on strong characters that challenge her as an actor and give her ample scope to perform.
